Price: Free Mt. Fuji Times Vol.２ January 1, 2017 On November 7th, 2016, a lecture on “Letter and Voice in Literature” was held at Tsuru University. It was given by Tawada Yoko who became contact professor of the department of Japanese literature Tsuru University this year. さく昨ねん年11月7日、こう講えん演かい会「ぶん文がく学におけるも文じ字とこえ声」がつ都る留ぶん文か科だい大がく学でかい開さい催されました。こう講し師はこん今ねん年ど度につ都る留ぶん文か科だい大がく学こく国ぶん文がっ学か科のとく特にん任きょう教じゅ授にしゅう就にん任されたた多わ和だ田よう葉こ子せん先せい生でした。 Tawada is a novelist and poet living in Berlin, Germany. She is also a bilingual writer in Japanese and German and works worldwide. Her novel titled “The Bridegroom Was a Dog” won the Akutagawa prize in 1993. Furthermore, she won various other prestigious awards including the Kleist prize in November, 2016. This lecture was organized by the department of Japanese literature Tsuru University with the cooperate support of FUJI KYUKO CO., LTD. The hall was full of listeners such as local people, professors and students from various departments. た多わ和だ田せん先せい生はドイツ、ベルリンざい在じゅう住のしょう小せつ説か家、し詩じん人です。また、に日ほん本ご語とドイツご語のバイリンガルさっ作か家でもあり、こく国さい際てき的にかつ活やく躍されています。せん先せい生は１９９３ねん年にしょう小せつ説『いぬ犬むこ婿い入り』であくた芥がわ川しょう賞をじゅ受しょう賞されました。さらに、かず数かず々のめい名よ誉あるしょう賞をかく獲とく得され、さく昨ねん年11がつ月にはどく独ぶん文がく学しょう賞クライストしょう賞をじゅ受しょう賞されました。こん今かい回のこう講えん演はかぶ株しき式がい会しゃ社ふ富じ士きゅう急こう行のきょう協さん賛をえ得てつ都る留ぶん文か科だい大がく学こく国ぶん文がっ学か科のしゅ主さい催でおこな行われました。かい会じょう場はいっ一ぱん般のかた方がた々やきょう教じゅ授、そしてさま様ざま々ながっ学か科のがく学せい生であふ溢れていました。 The lecture included Tawada’s talks and recitation of her poetry. She told us that when you read out literature, the language become lively and you are able to enjoy the language itself. Furthermore, having someone read out literature, it is more understandable for you because the rhythms emphasize important words and the structures of the sentences. For the features of the Japanese language, she said that homonym are plenty, mimetic and onomatopoeic words are developing, so that it is full of rhythmic sense. In this way, humor can to be created in Japanese literature. こう講えん演かい会ではた多わ和だ田よう葉こ子せん先せい生のおはなし話とろう朗どく読をき聞くことができまでした。た多わ和だ田せん先せい生はぶん文がく学をこえ声にだ出してよ読むことで、こと言ば葉がせい生めい命りょく力をも持ち、こと言ば葉ほん本らい来のたの楽しさをあじ味わうことができるとはな話されました。さらにだれ誰かによ読んでもらいみみ耳でき聞くことで、リズムによってじゅうよう重要なぶぶん部分やぶん文のこう構せい成がわかりやすい、とも。またに日ほん本ご語はどう同おん音い異ぎ義ご語がおお多く、ぎ擬おん音ご語やぎ擬たい態ご語がはっ発てん展しているため、そのとく特ちょう徴をい生かしてリズムかん感とユー モアのあるさく作ひん品をつく創ることができるとのことです。 One after another, Tawada recited her verses of poetry, full of mimetic and onomatopoeic words. The first one was in Japanese and then she mixed German words in it, in which we enjoyed the difference of the rhythms and sounds. “The Seagull” written by Anton Chekhov she recited in Japanese with claps to rhythms. There was a poem about pieces of small useless equipment left behind in a demolished building. The subjects of poetry Tawada recited for us were various -- culture, history and social issues. All of them had enjoyable rhythms and sounds of words embracing essential messages in humor. た多わ和だ田せん先せい生はどう同おん音い異ぎ義ご語やぎ擬たい態ご語・ぎ擬おん音ご語がふんだんにふく含まれたじ自さく作のし詩をろう朗どく読されました。さい最しょ初のいっ一ぺん編をに日ほん本ご語で、つづ続けておな同じし詩にドイツご語のたん単ご語をはさんでよ読まれました。わたし私たちはリズムやひび響きのちが違いをあじ味わうことができました。ロシアのチェーホフのぎ戯きょく曲『かもめ』は、て手あそ遊びのリズムにあ合わせてろう朗どく読されました。と取りこわ壊されるオフィスにのこ残されたひと一つひと一つのじ事む務き機き器をよ読んだし詩もありました。ぶん文か化、れき歴し史、しゃ社かい会もん問だい題をだい題ざい材にしたし詩はどれもリズムかん感のあること言ば葉あそ遊びのなか中に、ユーモアとたい大せつ切なメッセージがお織りこ込まれていました。 We learned that the attractiveness of literature is not limited to devoting ourselves to the books in silence. Tawada made us broaden our interests in literature. By reading out literature and enjoying the rhythms and sounds, more people may appreciate it.
